Al-Harizi, Judah (Tahkemoni)
(1170-1235)
   Spanish Hebrew poet and translator. He travelled widely through Mediterranean countries. His Tahkemoni consists of 50 narratives in rhymed prose - it throws light on the culture of the period and describes the scholars and leaders he met on his travels. He trans-lated Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed from Arabic into Hebrew.
